BoundryIQ ("we," "us," or "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding that information when you use boundryiq.com and any associated applications (collectively, the "Platform").

1. Information We Collect

Email address when you contact us or request early access
Name and professional information you voluntarily submit
Any messages or inquiries sent to support@tipitylabs.com

b. Information collected automatically:

Usage analytics via Google Firebase Analytics (page views, session duration, device type, browser, general location by country/region)
IP address (used by Firebase for geographic aggregation, not stored individually by us)
Device identifiers collected by Firebase Analytics
Referral source and navigation patterns within the Platform

c. Location data:

If you use field features of the Platform, you may grant location permission. Location data is used only to center the map and assist with parcel lookup. We do not store your precise location on our servers.

To respond to your inquiries and provide early access communications
To analyze Platform usage and improve features
To understand which features are most valuable to survey professionals
To send product updates or launch announcements (only if you opted in)
To comply with legal obligations

We do not sell your personal information to third parties. We do not use your information for advertising targeting on third-party platforms.

3. Firebase Analytics

We use Google Firebase Analytics to understand how users interact with the Platform. Firebase Analytics collects data such as device type, operating system, session duration, and general geographic region. This data is aggregated and used only to improve the Platform. Firebase's data practices are governed by Google's Privacy Policy at policies.google.com/privacy. You can opt out of Firebase Analytics by enabling "Limit Ad Tracking" on your device or using browser privacy settings.

4. Cookies and Local Storage

The Platform may use browser local storage and cookies to save your preferences and session state (such as map position and saved parcel data). We do not use third-party advertising cookies. Firebase Analytics uses its own cookies governed by Google's policies. You may clear cookies and local storage at any time through your browser settings, though this will reset your saved data.

5. Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We may share information only in the following limited circumstances:

Service providers: Google Firebase (analytics and infrastructure), Google Cloud Run (hosting). These providers process data on our behalf under their own privacy and security standards.
Legal compliance: If required by law, court order, or government authority.
Business transfer: In the event BoundryIQ is sold or transferred, user data may be transferred as part of that transaction. You will be notified of any such transfer.

6. Data Retention

We retain email addresses and contact information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide early access communications and respond to inquiries. Firebase Analytics data is retained according to Google's standard retention settings (up to 14 months by default). You may request deletion of your data at any time by contacting us.

7. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:

Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
Correction: Request correction of inaccurate data
Deletion: Request deletion of your personal data ("right to be forgotten")
Opt-out: Opt out of communications at any time
Portability: Request your data in a portable format
CCPA (California residents): You have the right to know what personal information is collected, the right to delete, and the right to opt out of sale (we do not sell data)
GDPR (EU/UK residents): You have additional rights under GDPR including the right to object to processing and the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority

8. Children's Privacy

BoundryIQ is intended for use by survey professionals and adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us immediately and we will delete it.

9. Security

We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including HTTPS encryption for all data in transit and secure cloud infrastructure via Google Cloud. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security of your data.

10. Third-Party Links

The Platform may contain links to third-party websites (such as Wiktionary or county GIS portals). We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites. We encourage you to review their privacy policies.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated policy on this page with a new effective date. Continued use of the Platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
